Canadian Society of Marine Artists
Picton, Ontario, 15 September 2021

Dale Byhre elected to the Canadian Society of Marine Artists.

Dale Byhre attended the Douglas College in British Columbia and while enrolled in the graphic design program, he developed a keen interest in fine art and more specifically painting, allowing him to showcase his interest in nautical themes.

Byhre has specialized in depicting both historical and modern ships, ranging from rocky shorelines and the working boats of the West Coast to the fighting ships of World War II. His work encompasses his strong appreciation for both ships and the sea.

It is with the greatest pleasure that the Canadian Society of Marine Artists wishes to announce that Dale Byhre has been elected to the Membership of the Society.

A sample of Byhre's work may be seen here.

The Canadian Society of Marine Artists promotes excellence in marine art, accepting that art is in the eye of the beholder and believing that the broad notion of "fine arts" - including both two and three dimensional works - and "excellence" should be used as guidelines. To maintain excellence, admission to the Society as a full member is by jury of the artists' peers.
