Search our SiteYou can search the Naval Marine Archive – The Canadian CollectionArchives and Collections Web Site direct from here. Please remember that at this point in time, the Web Site contains only a very small percentage of our resources.
This page is maintained for technical completeness; Google search boxes are strategically placed throughout our web site. We are a not-for-profit charitable organization devoted to marine education, conservation and research and currently hold more than 270,000 documents. We specialize in maritime heritage and history - steam and sail, naval, merchant and yachting, mostly Canada/US and Europe, mostly 18, 19, 20th century. The collections range from about 36,000 books in the reference library, to paintings and engravings, ships models and half-models, other artwork and photographs, a very extensive collection of magazines, journals and periodicals, manuscripts, log books, charts, video, film and sound tapes. Our aeronautical collections have expanded considerably from "Fleet Air Arm" only, to one of the most important collections in Canada, with the addition of the Ross Richardson fonds. We also took over the Canadian Society of Marine Artists a few years ago; this has expanded our art holdings quite considerably. |
