Stephen de Chene

Stephen R. de Chene lived all his life in the San Francisco Bay area. A commercial interior designer who designed and furnished corporate yachts among his projects, began his love of sailing while living in Berkeley during college. Owner of both large and small boats, he raced one man boats on the Bay, taught navigation along the Pacific Coast and spent summers sailing the coast of British Columbia almost every year.

An Eagle Scout, he continued with years of community service through Scout advisory positions, Rotary Club service work on environmental projects preserving the quality if the Bay and the Delta. An enthusiastic scuba diver, glider pilot, skier, wind surfer and camper, sailing always came first in his life.
