HMS Victory

Looking at the Victory through the eyes of artists

The introductory painting is by W. Fred Mitchell. The drawings are the work of Christine Warburton. The artist accepted a commission to spend time on the Victory in either 1960 or 1961, with the possible intent that her drawings might be used by the Society for Nautical Research, the guardians of the ship, for perhaps a calendar or other document. We can find no trace of their having been used for such a purpose.
