Merriman - 1928 catalog G

These early bronze winches are typical of th late 1920s. In the early 1930s, Merriman took over the designs (and the foundry) of Henry B. Nevins, City Island, New York, and the winches became a little shorter, but with enlarged diameters. This also introduced top-mounted handles, rather than side-mounted – but the latter took many years to become obsolete.
