Royal William, 31 March, 1891, with 8 appendices
By Archibald Campbell
Transactions of the Literary and Historical Society of Quebec, New Series, No. 20
This paper is complimentary to the history of the Royal William in tracing details of early crossings of the North Atlantic by steam. More details are availble on our Royal William page. It was adapted from older scans by the Hathi Trust, crediting the University of Calgary.
This very complete report was compiled with great care, many documents (appendices) being notarized to ascertain their veracity. The appendices include details of the Royal William's two registry entries (as built, and after bankruptcy), her "record of exports" (clearance) on departure from Pictou for England on 17th August, 1833, and a letter from her designer, John Goudie.
