Abbott Shipbuilding, Milford DE

James W. Abbott started this shipyard in Milford in 1869: his son, William, took over in 1883 and ran it until it closed in the 1930s. The yard was on the south side of the Mispillion River, at the foot of McColley Street, next door to the Vinyard shipyard: see it from the air on Google here. As usual with the older yards, Abbott Shipbuilding's construction record is seriously incomplete: if anyone can add to the table below, please email info@navalmarinearchive.com.
