Empire Shipbuilding, Buffalo NY

In the late 19th century, Bateman, McDougall & Palmer operated a repair yard in Buffalo's Erie Basin. In about 1900, they acquired the assets of Dunbar & Sullivan and relocated the shipbuilding equipment to Buffalo, incorporating the new business as Empire Shipbuilding Company. Unfortunately, they went bankrupt in 1911. The yard stretched from Carolina Street to West Genesee Street: see the site from the air on Googlehere.
