Gildersleeve Shipbuilding, Gildersleeve CT

S. Gildersleeve & Sons was started by Sylvester Gildersleeve in 1821, becoming Gildersleeve Shipbuilding Company in 1909 and Gildersleeve Ship Construction Company in 1917. It stopped building ships in 1932 but continued for a while as a repair yard. The yard was on the Connecticut River, just north of Portland CT: the site, which is now occupied by Petzold's Marine Center, can be seen from the air on Google here. If anyone can add to the table below, please email info@navalmarinearchive.com.
