Jeremiah Simonson, Greenpoint NY

Joseph Bishop & Jeremiah Simonson started this shipyard in 1834, at the foot of Walnut Street, in Manhattan. The partnership broke up in 1849 and Jeremiah Simonson, who was fortunate enough to be Cornelius Vanderbilt's nephew, moved the yard to Greenpoint in 1855, to a site at the foot of Calyer Street. The table below is clearly incomplete: if anyone has any data to add to it, please email info@navalmarinearchive.com.
