Saginaw Shipbuilding Co., Saginaw MI
Saginaw Shipbuilding Company was organized in 1917 by Frank W. Wheeler, who had sold his shipyard in West Bay City to American Ship Building in 1900 and was now a U.S. Congressman. He started the hull numbers in this yard where the hull numbers in his old yard left off. The yard was on Carrollton Road, at the foot of Hickory Street, just east of where the 6th Street bridge used to be: see the site from the air on Google here.
