Chilman Shipyard, Hoquiam WA

Ivar Chilman, a Swedish immigrant, built his shipyard in Hoquiam in 1915. He died in 1950 and his son Gilbert ran it until 1976, when he retired and sold the business. The yard was at the foot of C Street, on the east bank of the Hoquiam River - see it from the air on Google here - it is still recognizably a boatyard although it is now used for storage. They must have had more of a production record than is shown in this table and there may be some confusion between the production record of this yard and that of Hoquiam Shipyard.
