Mount Vernon Bridge, Irontown OH
The Mount Vernon Bridge Co. dates back to at least the 1880s. It is almost always described as being in Mount Vernon OH and only occasionally mentioned in connection with Ironton OH, but Mount Vernon OH is a very long way away from the river, so it seems probable that their shipyard was in Ironton OH, which fronts the Ohio River, just across from Ashland KY.
