Austal USA, Mobile AL
Austal USA was established in 2000 as a joint venture of the Australian boatbuilder, Austal, and Tom Bender, owner of Bender Shipbuilding. Austal bought Bender out in September 2006. The shipyard is on Pinto Island in Mobile, close to the I-10 tunnel. Visit the company at www.austal.com and see the yard from the air on Google here.
