Metal Shark, Franklin LA

Metal Shark Boats is an offshoot of Gravois Aluminum Boats, which was established by Jimmy Gravois in Jeanerette LA in 1983. In 2003 Gravois was persuaded by American Marine Holdings, (AMH), to make the leap into the government market and formed Metal Shark Boats for this purpose. In 2014, they built a wholly new yard on the Charenton Canal in Franklin for the construction of larger boats, leaving the Jeanerette facility for the smaller ones, which are too small and too numerous to be listed here. In June 2018 they bought a competitor, Horizon Shipbuilding, which has been renamed as their Alabama division.
