Tampa Marine, Tampa FL
Tampa Marine was started by Steve Hyer, an engineer and building contractor, in the 1930s, to support the Tampa-based banana fleet. They started building new ships during WWII and continued after the war until closing in 1960. The yard was on the Ybor Channel on a site that is now part of the Port of Tampa. If anyone can provide any information about either the yard or the ships it built, please email info@navalmarinearchive.com.
