Gunboats (PG, PGM) Built During WWII

The Navy built only two true gunboats before WWII, PG 50 and PG 51, concentrating its efforts in the littoral battle space on patrol frigates and sub chasers. During the war, it added ten boats built in Britain in 1940, 15 boats built in Canada in 1942-43, 8 converted SCs and 24 converted PCs. Comments or queries, please email info@navalmarinearchive.com.
