In this issue of "Schooner days", Mr Snider recalls the gale of Nov. 7th, 1880 in which both the propeller Zealand and the schooner Norway were lost with all hands. The Belle Sheridan, Thomas C. Street, Wood Duck, Snow Bird, Blanche, Hannah Butler, Dundee, A. G. Ryan, Maumee Valley, Lily, Hamilton, Baltic, Azov, Great Western, Speedwell, Twilight and Wave Crest were all stranded or damaged.
