That Southern Belle

Toronto Telegram, 17 December 1955
Schooner Days MCCD (1250)
By C.H.J. Snider

In this installment the author responds to a Picton, Ontario librarian, enquiring about the fate of the steamer Southern Belle, ex-Rothesay Castle. While adding to the histical record, he has a few facts wrong – she was finally broken up at the Rathbun yard, Mill Point (now Deseronto, Ontario), close to the librarian's home town. For more detail, see Southern Belle, ex-Rothesay Castle. Note that Mr Snider wrote this article aboard his own yacht Kingarvie on a trip "down South".
