Minesweepers, Part 2 : Coastal Minesweepers (AMc) Built or Acquired through WWII

Minesweepers : Part 1, Part 2 (this page), Part 3, Part 4, Part 5

During WWII, a total of 70 wooden-hulled coastal minesweepers, even smaller than the YMSs, were built in 15 boatyards. There was only one basic design - the 97-foot, 10-knot "Accentor" class. In addition, 45 fishing vessels were acquired and converted into minesweepers. Comments or queries, please email info@navalmarinearchive.com.
